Membership Basics

When will my membership be due for renewal?
One year from your last renewal contribution. We'll send you notices starting a few months before — responding ASAP saves 'OZ mailing costs. If you have questions, please call (504) 568-1239 or email membership@wwoz.org.

Why did I receive a reminder when I already sent my contribution?
Sometimes payments get credited to a membership account after we send renewal notices or pledge reminders. Please disregard the extra reminder and accept our apologies. Occasionally, your payment may not have been recorded as a renewal. If you are concerned, call Membership at (504) 568-1239 or email membership@wwoz.org.

Is my credit card information stored in my membership profile?
For your protection, we do not store credit card information. So there is no problem in using a different credit card when you renew online or by phone.

Mail and Publications

Will WWOZ give out my mailing address, phone number or email address?
Our privacy policy stipulates that while WWOZ does reserve the right to use member information for our own marketing purposes, WWOZ will not rent, trade or sell member information to other organizations or individuals.

How can I change my mailing address?
If you move, please email membership@wwoz.org or call (504) 568-1239 with both your old and new mailing addresses. Your updated address information saves WWOZ mailing costs, so please keep us in mind as you update your information!

How do I get off your mailing list?
Simply email membership@wwoz.org or call (504) 568-1239 and ask to have all mailings stopped.

Thank You Gifts

Where is my Brass Pass?
For security reasons, we do not mail Brass Passes. If you have a FedEx account or credit card, email membership@wwoz.org to have yours shipped via FedEx. You'll also have several opportunities prior to Jazz Fest to pick them up, or you can go to WWOZ's Will Call at the Fest. Stay tuned to our Brass Pass Pickup page for details.

When will my thank you gift arrive?
If you requested a thank you gift when you pledged, you'll receive your gift(s) within 4 to 6 weeks. If it has been longer, please call Membership at (504) 568-1239 or email membership@wwoz.org. We appreciate your patience.

Can I get thank you gifts from past membership drives?
It depends on what we have left over. Email membership@wwoz.org or call Membership at (504) 568-1239 to find out if a particular item is available and at what pledge level. You can also check the WWOZ Swamp Shop for more 'OZ gear.

What thank you gifts are available?
See the detailed descriptions of our thank you gifts.

General

What is the best way to contact WWOZ?
For all contact information, including phone numbers and mailing address, go thw WWOZ contact page.

What is the recommended contribution for a basic membership?
WWOZ is all about inclusion, not exclusion, so every gift of any amount makes you a member. We have faith that members will give the most they can because they believe in the music and mission of listener-supported New Orleans community radio.

Is my pledge contribution tax-deductible?
Your contributions to WWOZ are fully tax-deductible to the extent allowable by U.S. law, minus the fair market (retail) value of any thank you gifts you receive, which is listed in your thank you letter. Subtract the stated value of each gift you received to determine your tax-deductible contribution. Please consult your tax advisor if you have other questions about the deductibility of your pledge contribution.

My employer participates in the employee matching gift program. How do I enroll?
You may be able to double your donation to WWOZ. Please ask your employer whether they have a Corporate Matching Gifts program. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, 'OZ (as Friends of WWOZ) is eligible for these programs. Send a matching gift form from your Human Resources Department along with your membership contribution to:

WWOZ
Attn: Matching Gifts
PO Box 51840
New Orleans, LA, 70151.

Can I give membership as a gift to someone?
Absolutely! You pay for the membership (at any level), and the other person receives the benefits. When you fill out the Brass Pass donation form online, check the box labeled "This is an honor or memorial gift" and enter the information in the boxes that appear. You can also call (504) 568-1239 to arrange this.

How can I include WWOZ in my estate plans?
A planned gift for WWOZ can be an outright gift, a life income gift, or a charitable bequest, and it can be made during your lifetime or at the time of death. For detailed information about including WWOZ in your estate plans contact our Development Director by email at giving@wwoz.org or call (504) 568-1239.

THE NEW ORLEANS JAZZ & HERITAGE FESTIVAL

The Jazz & Heritage Festival has been a growing event each year. Setting record crowds the past few years. This two weekend festival has drawn the likes of many top entertainers, such as Paul Simon,Santana, B.B. King, and many more. This event always seems to out do itself every year. The festival always falls on the last weekend in April and the first weekend in May. It may be springtime, but do not count on all to comfortable temperatures. While average highs are only in the lower 80's, the combination between the large crowds and the lack of shade make for a surprisingly hot time. Another great thing about this festival is it gives you an opportuinity to sample just about every local cuisine you can think of. (Tip: Get your Crawfish Bread & Crawfish Monica early in the day. You don't want to waste time standing in line for these great items, when you could be out dancing to great artist). Remember to bring comfortable clothes and shoes and sunscreen and hat to enjoy the festival to its fullest.
Happy Jazz Fest!!!!
